To blog or not to blog….

Workaholic by day, serial blogger by night - not in reality. It's more like this is my very first time writing a blog, but all the volunteers at the 24 carrots farmers' market think that getting us blogging about what we do will give you guys a better idea about everything that goes into running a successful market - and I couldn’t agree more! So I’ll be blogging away as often as I can and I am sure plenty of the volunteers will want to have a go once its up and running (not that that’s a hint at all).

So, as a newbie to the market volunteers, I feel I should give you a bit of a background - basically the group meet every week (except for the week after the market - a well deserved break!) and then market day - 3rd Saturday of the month!! - some of the guys traipse up at an ungodly hour to set up, stay there for the start to make sure things are running smoothly and to answer questions, and to generally enjoy the market vibe - because the vibe is great - and will be getting better with more and more live music and entertainment being added to the bill.

So this Saturday (17th July) see’s the first year anniversary of the market - expect birthday shenanigans galore - cake, tombola, music, festivities, and loads of orange hoodies! As you can imagine lots of work has gone into getting everything ready for the day - the last month has seen my inbox awash with emails from the group - so much work has gone on - including the new jewellery and arts stalls! Generally, there isn’t these types of stall at the market, but seeing’s as it’s our first birthday, and the annual JQ arts and jewellery fair isn’t happening, we decided to try and get some local jewellers involved - we’ve had such a great response! So, if on Saturday you are feeling the need for some good, honest, fantastic food and some jewellery…. Come along to our market- between 10-3 at the Big Peg in the JQ
