Last night two of our Carroteers headed off deep into the countryside to visit one of our stallholders’ HQ- Squisito Deli. Sara and Alex, the owners of Squisito deli were kind enough to ask us over to discuss what us Carroteers love to talk about the most- good food! What a lovely night - we were made to feel welcome straight away at Squisito HQ, which is set in the most picture card perfect village I’ve ever seen!!
Squisito have an amazing approach to food, visit their website at http://squisito-deli.co.uk for details on their approach and about the Slow Food Movement, which Alex is chair of the Warwickshire group, or have a chat to Squisito at the market!
The food was superb, and I, as one of the lucky Carroteers who attended, got to gobble down all kinds of beautiful treats - in particular, I must say, Squisito’s olives are amazing! I have never been an olive fan, but I couldn’t get enough of those beauties. It was great to listen to people who are so passionate about what they do - its given us great inspiration for the market and for the Community Garden Project (More coming up on that in the near future!!) and several other projects us Carrots are involved in.
Our market is this Saturday, the 18th September, and we have a fantastic new stall coming to us this month - Woodhouse farm sell some amazing Pork and Beef and Award winning bacon and sausages! We’ll be outside the Big Peg on Warstone Lane from 10am til 3pm, so if you fancy some tasty treats, lovely produce, a spot of lunch and some amazing live music by the Stunts - then head over and pay a visit!
