October’s Farmers Market
Well it was certainly chilly at our Market in October! All the Carroteers were layered up and huddling around for warmth! Our amazing stall holders must have thought we were mad as many of them were working without even having coats on!!
The day started out with a bit of a disaster that had a happy ending! Tom from Loaf Online arrived with his wood fired oven and enough dough and toppings for 150 amazing pizzas - the Carroteers were getting really excited about our lunch! But when Tom arrived the oven had cracked and he couldn’t cook! Tom held an impromptu Pizza takeaway on Saturday night to ensure the dough wasn’t wasted. Visit http://www.loafonline.co.uk/2010/10/cotteridge-pop-up-pizza-club-round-up/ for more details on the pop up pizza club! We’re hoping to have Tom back next month - we’ll let you guys know!
After that all of our other stallholders turned up and the market started - in attendance this month were also local band McScraggy and the Suits who rocked the market for a few hours. For more information on McScraggy and the Suits and what upcoming gigs they have, follow them on Facebook and Myspace!
Two of the Carroteers disappeared from the market this month for a few hours - not slacking by any means! We were invited to speak to members of the RSA about 24 Carrots - it was a great event and we got some very good feedback about the market - the Carroteers are hoping to speak at some further events in the near future and we’ll keep you posted! See some of photos of the RSA's day at the 24Carrots!
Our next market promises to be a bit festive and we are sure that you will be able to find some fantastic Christmas gifts, including luxurious soap sets and fantastic chutneys and pickles and many more surprises! Keep tuned for more details before the next Market on the 20th November!
Keep posted this month for our article on Beans and Leaves - our fantastic tea and coffee supplier!
