The Market last Saturday was a truly fantastic affair, with many people leaving with a full weeks shopping! From fresh organic veg to award winning locally reared meats, pies, chutneys, cupcakes, desserts, gourmet Italian foods, specially selected teas and coffees - there was something there for everybody. We also had the superb Stunts playing to raise money for Cancer Research and to create a truly buzzing atmosphere - thank you to everyone who donated!
A first for Birmingham also happened this month!! Co-Go, our caffeine saviours, decided to try something a bit different at the Saturday market! Have a look at the video to see the siphon method of creating coffee - it truly was an amazing cup of coffee! The technique was invented in the 1830’s and produces a very clear brew! Delicious!!
This weekend sees the Carroteers off to our away day - a couple of times a year we get together for a day, aside from the regular meetings, to discuss how we can make the market more fabulous! This Saturday we are focussing our minds on the marketing side of things … we’re planning a few changes in the near future- more of that to come!
Also this week, one of our Carroteers had an evening event to raise awareness and support of a local community garden that she is helping to set up- more details are to follow on that later this month!
Also coming this month is an article on MoreCocoa - the fantastic hot chocolate and cakes that make all the Carroteers mouths water!
Our next market is on Saturday the 16th October and is shaping up to be an extra large event - we’re planning live music and even more stalls than last month- including for the first time, Loaf, which will be cooking amazing pizza’s on the day.
